I don’t know if you have ever updated your Google places listing, but take it from me, it can take some time and several weeks (or more precisely, exactly 7 weeks) was not unusual for address updates. Now, addresses can be updated in a few days and photos and videos in a week. There is a bit more to it but check out details over at SEO Round Table.
The boys over at Distilled have a great video post covering how to use video for SEO. With video results getting blended into the search engine result pages (SERPS) it can be a much easier way to rank some content above where it would usually slot in.
Rand over at SEOMoz covers some guest blogging strategies for link building and with it getting harder and harder to build quality links guest blogging should be part of your overall strategy (and Rand is as watchable as ever).
We still see lots of problems with duplicate content (and over optimisation) causing issues so if you are not ranking as well as you should be or you just want a refresher on all the many duplicate content types and how they can get you a swipe from googles Panda shaped enforcer then check out Dr Pete’s modern classic on Fat Pandas and Thin Content.
